Citizens State Bank Midwest has been serving the people of northeast North Dakota since
1936, when we opened our first office in Neche. At that time the bank was known as
Citizens State Bank of Neche. A branch was established in Pembina in 1954. In
March of 1977, the bank set up a trailer on the construction site in Cavalier, North
Dakota where the official main office would be built. At that time the name was changed
to Citizens State Bank of Pembina County.
In October of 1999, Citizens State Bank of Pembina County purchased a well known
"Hometown Bank," located in Stephen, Minnesota called Farmers State Bank. With a
facility in Kennedy, this merger brought our branch number to four and we became
Citizens State Bank - Midwest.
The office of Citizens Loan Company, LPO, located in Scottsdale, Arizona, was
opened in June of 2001.
Citizens State Bank - Midwest built new facilities in Walhalla, North Dakota and
Bemidji, Minnesota in 2002.
